Hello!! Hope you're having a great beginning of the week and a good February so far!
It's currently raining and ice-ing (is that the right way to spell it?! - it's not "icing" on the cake) here in Cincinnati.....brought us a day off of school today and already a 2-hour delay tomorrow. Hoping weather is better in your neck of the woods. The trees aren't liking it too much!
It's time to post your third Scripture Memory verse, and report on what God's been teaching you from your 2nd one.
You'll see my response in the comments.....I'll be looking for yours soon!

ReplyDeleteMy next scripture is:
1 Corinthians 15: 58 (NIV)
" Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain."
My previous scripture was Psalm 16:7-8. I think the thing I've been reminded of the most over the past two weeks is that God is in control, and nothing surprises Him. I'm learning that the closer I am to Him (meeting with Him daily, talking with Him throughout my day and before I go to sleep), the easier it is to stay 'on track' and be at peace when things happen in life that I did not expect.
Matthew 5:16 (NIV)
ReplyDelete"Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven."
My last memory verse (Jam 2:12) was so easy to read, made sense and gave peace to me. Then, during some nights I was awake, I'd go over it in my head and would get stuck after a section. I had more prayer time and checked first thing in the morning. I'm being challenged and will improve.

Good Morning, Laur,
ReplyDeleteHope you are all doing well and staying warm.
My new scripture will be:
Philippians 4:6: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”
My first scripture was Psalm 46:1. I wrote it out and kept it on the desk, right in front of the keyboard, where I could see it and look it over several times a day. It was such a comforting verse, and was a wonderful reminder to turn to Him for strength, not just worry over things I can't control.

ReplyDeleteIsaiah 1:18a (NIV)
"Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow."
Isaiah 40:31 But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like easles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

So sorry it's so cold there. We think it's extremely cold here because today it's high of 38 and windy which is VERY unusual for here but compared to you, this is warm.

ReplyDeleteMy new verse will be:
Joshua 22:5-6
love the Lord your God, walk in all his ways, obey his commands, hold firmly to him and serve him with all your heart and all your soul.
I continue to post them on the bathroom mirror. It is a good reminder to also remember the previous verse(s) so hopefully, they will forever be in my mind and in my heart.
