Well....you may notice that it's been more than two weeks since the last post. Even though I picked out a memory verse for March 15th, due to illness and other commitments that were going on in our lives, I didn't make the time to post on the blog.....nor have I done a great job with committing this verse to memory. I'm now ready to re-focus. How about you?
I think I'm going to call this one a mulligan, and since I don't have it yet, I'm choosing the same verse to work on for the next two weeks. Maybe you were needing some extra time to work on a verse as well.
I'm hoping you realize that it's totally OK to choose to work at your own pace on these memory verses - every two weeks, one per month, or even one every six weeks if that works better for you. No matter how long you work on a verse, the point is that you're working on it! To God be the glory!
On this April Fools Day, here's hoping that you'll be inspired to keep challenging yourself with committing each of the verses you've chosen so far to memory, and continuing forward as we go through this year.....and that's no joke!
Love, Laura

ReplyDeletePsalm 4:8 NIV
"I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety."
Laura,
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you had a great time in FL with Mom and Dad. I heard you all had some nice temps and were able to do many fun things. I did not do a great job of keeping up with this over the last month, so will continue on with the one I chose before:
Philippians 4:6: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”
Thanks! Love to you all,
Julie

ReplyDeleteI've also been lax in my memorizing, but I do keep my little tablet in my purse and pull it out every chance I have waiting for someone.
So I picked an easy one this time. I also added one for the time I missed here, so I'm working on both the new ones. I'm so glad you are doing this to make us accountable to come up with a different scripture and work on it or else I would not be as committed, to thank you.
This one is
Proverbs 3:5&6, (which was one of my Dad's favorites) Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding but in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight.
